Cleanliness and Maintenance
It’s always a bigger task to keep villas clean and tidy than it is to manage the cleanliness of a hotel. They do a good job at Lumpu Bali Resort, though.
We did feel that they might be a bit more proactive when it comes to maintenance, though, and while our minor issues were resolved promptly with the air-conditioning, it would be better not to have them at all.
Sleep Quality
This is a lovely villa complex in a quiet garden environment, and there’s no noise in the rooms at all, nor does any light break through the windows after daybreak.
The beds are big and inviting, the mattresses are very comfortable, and the pillows are fabulous. You won’t need to count sheep to pass out for the night here.
Staff Attitude And Service Culture
The staff are what make Klumpu Bali such a wonderful experience. They are typically Balinese in their warmth and friendliness.
However, it’s their professionalism and attitude that really make it such an easy place to enjoy staying in.
Check-in/Check-out Experience
We thought the check-in process was a little clunky, but given how small this resort was, we were still quickly in our rooms and the whole thing was behind us.
Check-out is a very straightforward thing, and the staff will be happy to hold your luggage if you need them to, so you can explore Sanur before heading to the airport.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The bathrooms are big, spacious and decadent. You’re not going to have any issues with water pressure, toiletries, towels, etc. and that adds up to a washing experience that’s genuinely first rate.
Value For Money
We felt that the prices were a little on the high side for a 4-star hotel, but that overall, it still represented good but not outstanding value for money in this part of Sanur.
Food And Beverage Execution
Klumpu Restaurant is pretty decent, and the breakfasts are filling and set you up nicely for the day.
However, there are a lot of great restaurants to choose from in Sanur, and we doubt we’d go back here, unless we were staying in the resort.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
This place is a little bit farther from the beach than we’d like, but it’s still not that far away. The area is safe and pleasant, and you can easily explore Sanur from this location.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
The few on-site facilities that are available are good quality and in line with the expectations set in the marketing material for this resort, but there really aren’t very many of them.
Overall “Personality”
Klumpu Bali Resort is nice enough, and you’ll feel comfortable and at ease throughout your stay. But we don’t feel that it has enough personality to be truly memorable in the long term.
You’ll certainly be telling your friends about it when you get home, but 5 years down the road, you may be struggling to remember the name.

We’d be happy to recommend Klumpu Bali Resort to anyone seeking a nice spot in Sanur to base themselves in to explore the area but it might not be ideal for people who like to hole up in the resort for their whole holiday.
