This place is as spotless as it’s possible for a place where people live to be; you simply won’t have any detail impinge upon your enjoyment of the Umana.
Sleep Quality
We slept like happy babies at Umana Bali. The rooms are noiseless, light sealed and perfectly aired. The turndown service ensures your bed is perfect before you jump in.
The beds themselves are the height of luxury and comfort, and we doubt it’s possible to have so much as a bad dream in this place.

The Umana Bali’s staff are all about setting the standard for a world-class experience, and it shows in every interaction.
You will never find yourself frustrated with the people here; they are all focused on ensuring you have a friction-free stay.

Check-in and check-out are painless and easy experiences where you will have almost no delay in getting to your villas.
They can store luggage if needed after you check out, but really, given the location, we doubt many people take them up on this.
Bathroom Quality & Functionality
The bathrooms are every bit as special as the bedrooms. They are large, welcoming spaces that make you want to spend time enjoying a long, relaxing cleaning ritual.
If we could write poetry, we’d compose an ode to the towels, toiletries and water pressure. We’d come back just to use the bathrooms again.

Yes, it’s not cheap, but we felt that Umana Bali was superlative value for money. They take care of every little detail to ensure that you have the best of stays and we can’t ask for more than that.
It’s certainly not expensive when the experience is this good.
Food And Beverage Execution
The food at Umana Bali’s various restaurants and bars is world-class, it’s fine dining quality and always fresh, delicious and beautifully presented.
We only wish we could come back more often just to eat here. We can’t believe they even know how to make a bad meal at Umana.
Location & Immediate Surroundings
The location is beautiful, safe and relaxing. But it’s in Uluwatu, which means you’re quite a distance from anything else, and you’re going to need transportation.
It’s also not the ideal spot for exploring the rest of the island.
Facilities & Amenities Vs Promise
They may not have the largest list of amenities in Bali, but everything here is of such incredible quality that it simply doesn’t matter. You will be blown away by the facilities, we guarantee it.
Overall “Personality”
Umana Bali sets out to be special in every interaction, every touch point and everything it does, and it succeeds at every level.
We can’t think of many resorts in the same league when it comes to personality, if hotels were companions, Umana Bali would be a supermodel.

We have no doubt that Umana Bali will collect a Michelin Key (or more) sooner or later. This is a fabulous hotel where every little detail matters.
There is no reason not to recommend this resort apart from perhaps its slightly awkward location for an island explorer and the obvious fact that it’s quite pricey.
However, we think it’s very much worth it and would encourage anyone who wants to try Umana Bali to do so.

Umana Bali is hotly tipped for a Michelin Key in the near future due to its incredible guest experiences. The only reason it didn’t win in the first round was that it’s too new to have been considered.
We suspect that it will win and it will be quite deserved too, this is a luxurious break that really does stand out among some incredibly strong competition on the island.
The only downside, as you’d expect, is that it’s not cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for at Umana Bali. We’d recommend it to anyone interested in staying here.
