FAQ

Is It Better To Stay In A Villa Or A Resort In Bali?

It really depends on what you need from your holiday. While there are a few villa-resorts where you get the benefits of both, in our experience, villas tend to offer far more “in-room” facilities and amenities and often nice touches like a private pool.

On the flip side, you’re more likely to get a bigger number of amenities at a resort, such as gyms, tennis courts, kids’ clubs, etc., all of which require a certain critical mass of guests to make them economically viable to provide, and that means villas often struggle to make up the numbers.

We’d opt for a villa holiday if we were travelling with friends or family and we wanted to spend large amounts of time talking and being together as a group. There’s nothing better than chilling by the pool while a butler does all the running around to make sure you have a fabulous holiday.

Luxury villas in Bali can offer lush tropical gardens, spacious bedrooms, in-villa massages, open-plan living, daily breakfast, and more to ensure your island life is easy and fun. Big families, large parties and big groups often find these arrangements more economical, too. While a villa can be a big outlay for a couple, if you have 5 bedrooms that are all full, it’s often much cheaper per person than a resort.

But on a family holiday where having things to do is paramount, we’d go with a resort. You can still get the lush gardens and ocean views, but having direct access to a kids’ club can make a holiday so much more fun for younger kids and even teens.

Resorts are often the perfect blend of fun and luxury in this island paradise.

Otherwise, it’s really down to your travel style. If you want a whole villa to yourself and you can afford it, why not?

Which Villa Did The Kardashians Stay In Bali?

The Kardashians stayed in the Soori Villa complex. This is a serious place, and the main gorgeous villa has four private pools, including two private infinity pools. There’s a private chef on hand all the time, as well as a full in-villa staff to handle daily housekeeping and other tasks.

It’s a fantastic location for a Bali holiday, but it comes at a fairly hefty price tag. Soori Villa may be a tropical oasis, but it’s not affordable for most of us. Don’t worry, you can still enjoy an amazing group getaway with awesome ocean views and sunset cocktails for much less.

We should also note that when superstars stay in hotels here, they tend not to hang around with the other guests. So staying in a Bali villa that hosts celebrities doesn’t ensure that you will get to meet them.

Final Thoughts On Luxury Villas Bali

When you choose a Bali villa, look beyond great deals and make sure you get exactly what you want, whether it be attentive staff, staying a stone’s throw from Tanah Lot or Eat Street, a clifftop perch on the Bukit Peninsula or in a rice field near Berawa Beach, or a luxurious bunk room.

There are so many villas to choose from here that you can nearly always find something that meets all your needs. On our last Canggu holiday, we wanted a top-notch pool area and an Australian-owned property, and we found there were plenty of choices a short walk from FINNS Beach Club.

So, don’t compromise and remember that our list of the 20 best villas here on the island are guaranteed to provide a level of luxury and wonder that you’ll never forget.
